Powertrain Mechanical Assembly

The mechanical assembly lines use control processes and software developed by Comau to produce engine blocks, connecting rods, piston sub-assemblies, cylinder heads, transmissions, gearboxes and running-gear components, all "first time quality". The equipment integrates all the basic processes of mechanical assembly, such as press fitting, nut/bolt running, application of adhesive, together with mechanical unit gauging and testing stations.

These on-line checks (tightening torques, leaks...) guarantee the quality of the assembled products.
